About the Center

The Multicultural Children’s and Young Adult Research Center supports scholarship and outreach on the subject of diverse literature for young people.

Our goals:

  • To develop collaborative, interdisciplinary research for publication on multicultural children’s and young adult literature in top-tier scholarly venues;
  • To build opportunities for innovative curricular development and co-teaching across Schools and Colleges, particularly the Neag School of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and School of Fine Arts;
  • To create interdisciplinary programming in and beyond the university community that draws upon the expertise of faculty from various University departments and the resources of the Dodd Center’s Northeast Children’s Literature Collection and Human Rights Education Project.
